Include all necessary details and evidence to assist us in addressing the issue. You can use the Report Forms on the website or email us at hello@vipe.io.
V. Consequences of Violation
Failure to comply with these submission guidelines may result in the removal of your 3D avatar models from VIPE.
All avatars minted on VIPE remain in the blockchain, but won’t be shown on our platform or connected platforms.
Repeated or severe violations may lead to the suspension or termination of your account.
VI. Technical Requirements
Creating a whole avatar is not easy, but we're here to guide you through the process. We understand that challenges may arise along the way, but we'll do our best to demonstrate our workflow so you can gain a clear understanding of how to create your avatar successfully.
You can also explore our comprehensive documentation, where we delve deeper into each aspect of the workflow, providing explanations on the 'how' and 'why.'
Before you dive into avatar creation, it's crucial to be aware of the technical limitations for VIPE. Here is a list of these limitations:
Triangle Count
Your avatar's total triangle count should not exceed 15,000 triangles. Please note that this limit applies to the entire avatar, excluding blendshapes. This allow avatars to be truly interoperable across all platforms and applications.
Clean Topology
Ensure your avatar boasts clean topology, which not only enhances its appearance but also simplifies the rigging process. Clean topology ensures smoother movement and better compatibility with various shaders.
Humanoid Structure
While your avatar doesn't have to be human, it should possess a humanoid structure, comprising 2 arms, 2 legs, a torso, and a head. Feel free to unleash your imagination; the possibilities are limitless. For inspiration, check out our 100Avatars project.
Material Instances
To ensure interoperability and optimal performance, limit your avatar to a maximum of 2 material instances. Multiple material instances demand more computing power, which may not be suitable for lower-end systems. Avoid using multiple meshes; remember to merge them at the end of the modeling process.
Texture Size
Texture maps should have a maximum size of 2048x2048 pixels. This is the standard size and ensures compatibility with our platform.
VRM Format
We only accept avatars in the VRM format. Please do not submit avatars in other formats such as GLB, FBX, OBJ, or GLTF. Use the .VRM format exclusively for your submissions.
VRM File Size & Avatar Ranking
Take into consideration that the VRM total file size shouldn’t exceed 8MB. This is the maximum that some platforms allow when loading avatars in your surroundings, or even uploading your own avatar into the platform.
Avatar Ranking. Take a look to our ranking when you mint an avatar to know exactly what are your avatar details in Triangles, Drawcalls and File Size. It will be calified from A to F.
Optimization Level A B C D E F Triangles 0 - 3999 4000 - 15.999 16000 - 31.999 32000 - 63.999 64000 - 79.999 > 80000 Drawcalls 1 2 3 4 5-6 > 6 File Size (MB) 0 - 4.99 5 - 7.99 8 - 15.99 16 - 19.99 20 - 24.99 > 25 The final rank of the model will be based on this formula:
$$rank = \frac{triangles + drawcalls + filesize}{3}$$
Adhering to these technical requirements and limitations ensures the quality and compatibility of your avatars on VIPE.
